Vehicle-Specific Key Resetting
There are certain types of vehicles that require a more customized approach to maintaining their keys and transponders. Prokeys will reset and reflash any keys or transponders that require it, and will get you back on the road as soon as possible.
Reflash services apply to Toyota and Lexus vehicles manufactured between 1998 and 2004. The process of reflashing your transponder key will reprogram the car’s immobilizer, setting it back to the original factory settings. After reflashing and reinstallation, the car will be in “learning mode” and will accept the use of new keys. The technique updates the vehicle’s anti-theft system, keeping your belongings safe whether you’ve had the car for years or just bought it used.
Reflashing for other types of newer vehicles, including Volvos and more, involves resetting the EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory). This reads the data in the existing immobilizer module instead of replacing it.
